Blame the IITs

IITs are such an obsession in this country of ours that everybody wants to talk about them. Some adore it some criticise it, but nobody leaves them alone. From the top brass ministers who are always looking to ruin its autonomy to a common man from a lower class background who hardly understands the difference between ITI and IIT. During the era of socialist biased India, IITs were accused of brain drain and IITians being shown as having no respect for their motherland because they left India and are working abroad. Who cares to understand that the quality of jobs in the country were not adequate for such a well trained pool of people. If one finds a equally good job in one's own country who wants to go and live in an alien culture without many friends and relatives. There may be exceptions always. Post liberalization many companies have now their offices in the country and to my observation the number of IIT graduates doing jobs in India have increased significantly because of it. As the brain drain fever subsided people started to find new ways to hit back at the IIT junta. So lets see, IITians are now doing jobs in their homeland so now cant blame them for brain drain. What else can we do?? Oh wait a minute, half of them are working in finance and software firms. Bang, IITians are wasting public money they are not giving back by working in the field the government has invested for their studies. Pure betrayal. IITs are the villains again. Nobody wants to sit down and analysis the reasons for it because who got time for that. We are Indians, nobody can beat us in playing blame games. After all we blame wives and girlfriends for poor performance of cricketers, chowmien for rape, and many more... What if an average IIT graduate comes from a humble middle class background, who wishes to raise the standard of living of himself and his family. So what, if there aren't enough jobs in the core sector in the country because we are still not the industrial hub of the world. How dare does a person wants some good earning job and not care about his interest. Its just pure evil. One should follow his interest at all costs even if it means remaining unemployed. Work in mechanical, civil, material science, etc or whatever be your field is, no matter whether there are jobs available or not. Govt. has invested in your education, how can you switch fields for a better living. If jobs are available in finacne and IT and pay you well doesn't mean you should take that. Because who wants survival. All the IIT peole are elite class of citizens are they are supposed to rise above the normal nomrs of human behaviour while we can continue to blame the spoiled bastards....  STOP BLAMING, START THINKING!!
